He continued to train and perform at Upper Darby Summer Stage and Young People's Theatre Workshop (YPTW) at The Player's Club of Swathmore. Towards the end of Josh's high school career, he gained acceptance to the prestigious Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts in Voice in Drama. Upon graduation from The Governor's School, Josh attended the summer at Ithica College for Musical Theatre. The following fall, Josh began his college career at Syracuse University's Department of Drama. Josh graduated in May of 2003 with a BFA in Musical Theatre.
